Atco Carpet & Flooring opened its doors in 1985, when Dennis and Leslie Sims set out to do one thing well: help South Jersey families find the right floors and install them the right way. For nearly four decades, that’s exactly what we did — one home, one neighbor, one referral at a time.
When our storefront lease ended in 2023, we had a choice: chase another expensive retail space, or rethink the whole thing. We realized our customers never really came to us for the showroom — they came for honest advice, fair prices, and floors that lasted. So we did something better. We brought the store to them.
Today, we mail free samples right to your door, then bring the full library and a tape measure to your home when you’re ready. No showroom overhead means better prices. No commissions means no pressure. And the same family that’s installed South Jersey floors since 1985 still stands behind every job.
Most of our work still comes from neighbors who send their friends. Forty years on, that’s the part we’re proudest of.
