Stairs done right
Stairs that look good and feel solid underfoot.
Wall-to-wall stair carpet, a runner over wood, or new hardwood or LVP treads — we do all of it. Stairs are the most-used, most-seen floor in the house, so we measure them in person and help you pick something that wears well.

Which stair option is right?
- Wall-to-wall carpet — warm, quiet, and soft on bare feet
- A runner — carpet down the middle, wood showing at the sides
- Hardwood treads — classic, and a match for wood floors nearby
- LVP treads with nosing — water- and scratch-tough, a match for LVP floors
What we carry
Stair-ready carpet from Mohawk and Shaw, runners cut and bound to fit your staircase, and hardwood and LVP treads with matching nosing so the front edge of every step looks finished and holds up to traffic. If the floors around the stairs are changing too, we'll match the stairs to them.
“Nice local, family-owned and operated place. And they do the work themselves — no subs!”

Good to know
Stair questions, answered
Can you put a runner on my existing hardwood stairs?+
Yes. A runner leaves wood showing at the sides, so the treads need to be in decent shape. We'll look at them at your free measure and tell you honestly whether a runner, full carpet, or new treads makes more sense.
Can you replace carpeted stairs with hardwood or LVP?+
Yes. We take up the old carpet and install new hardwood or LVP treads with matching nosing on the front edge of each step. It's a common upgrade when the floors around the stairs are going hard too.
What carpet holds up best on stairs?+
Stairs take more wear than any other floor, so we usually recommend a dense, low-pile textured or loop carpet — it resists crushing and hides footprints far better than a soft plush.
How much does it cost to redo stairs?+
It depends on how many steps you have, whether they're open or closed at the sides, any landings or turns, the material you pick, and what has to come off first. We confirm your exact price for free when we measure in your home.
Can you do the stairs along with the rest of the floor?+
Yes, and it's often the best time to. We match the stairs to the new floor so everything flows together.
